Under the supervision of the Director of SESAME, and in close collaboration with the Scientific and Technical Directors, the incumbent will provide overall administrative management of SESAME. In particular, the Administrative Director will:

  • Direct the work relating to the concept and planning of the management programme of SESAME to ensure  the efficient utilization of SESAME resources.
  • Prepare the organization chart of SESAME and the job descriptions of the required technical, scientific and administrative staff. 
  • Prepare and follow up on SESAME seat agreement with the host country (Jordan), as well as the maintenance of SESAME building.
  • Review SESAME staff rules and regulations as well as the financial rules and regulations.
  • Coordinate with the Technical Director and the Training Committee the training of SESAME junior technical staff and their return and placement in SESAME.
  • Prepare SESAME annual budget and follow up on Member States contributions.
  • Manage the Administrative Sector and its divisions of  finance, human resources , administrative support, supplies, procurement, logistics, and directorate service unit.
  • Maximize and facilitate the utilization of SESAME research facilities to the benefit of  Member States' users. 
  • Monitor recent developments and carry out appropriate activities in  areas relevant to SESAME’s mission.
  • Be responsible for the logistics and administrative component of SESAME reports, conferences, symposia, committee meetings, advisory groups, consultant activities, and Council meetings.  
  • Participate as a member of the Board of Directors in formulating policy and developing innovative approaches and strategies to strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of SESAME programmes.
  • Act as focal point on management and administrative issues for Member States representatives, donors, international organizations and laboratories for the mobilization of resources for SESAME programmes.
  • Coordinate corporate management issues with the Directors of the Technical and Scientific sectors.
